Magaya Aims for 10 Stadiums by 2032 to Host Major Tournaments

Walter Magaya dreams of building 10 football stadiums by 2032. He wants Zimbabwe to host big football games like COSAFA and AFCON tournaments.

Magaya told reporters about his plans when they visited Chahwanda Stadium in Kwekwe on Wednesday. He promised that the stadiums would meet all the rules of the Zimbabwe Football Association and Confederation of African Football.

Right now, Magaya is working on building Chahwanda Stadium in Kwekwe. He talks with people from Masvingo, Kadoma, and Shurugwi about making new stadiums or fixing old ones. People from news agencies and city workers from Masvingo and Kadoma came to see the stadium.

"I want to build 10 stadiums by 2032, and I believe God will help me do this," Magaya said. "If I cannot finish them all, I will still thank God for what I manage to build. With these stadiums ready by 2032, Zimbabwe can ask to host important football games like COSAFA and AFCON. This is why I plan to make at least one good stadium in each of our 10 provinces."

The deputy Mayor of Masvingo, Daniel Mberikunashe, said the city leaders will talk about Magaya's idea during their meeting on Monday.
