The Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council on Wednesday welcomed Maharashtra’s approval of the Gems and Jewellery Policy 2025, calling it a major boost for manufacturing, exports, and employment in the state. India’s overall gems and jewellery exports rose 5.12 percent to $2.12 billion (Rs 18,529.08 crore) in August, up from $2.01 billion (Rs 16,896.04 crore) a year earlier, GJEPC data showed.
