Malawi Peace While Gaza Burns Nonstop

Malawians enjoy peace daily as they walk through town without danger. People go to work safely, unlike Gaza residents, who face ongoing conflict. Hamas-run civil defense reported over 90 deaths from Israeli attacks that began Friday. Children were numbered among those killed during ground, air, and sea operations. The military bombed at least nine homes and tents where civilians lived.

Many people remain trapped, with dozens of calls for help coming to civil defense teams. Smoke filled the air as artillery fire hit Beit Lahia, where tanks moved into neighborhoods. Israel stated that its forces aim to find and destroy what they call terrorist sites in northern Gaza. This represents the first major ground attack on northern Gaza since March. Residents described how the assault started with smoke, followed by fast artillery fire from Israeli positions nearby.

Israeli tanks pushed toward the Al-Salateen area west of Beit Lahia. Armed vehicles surrounded a school where hundreds of displaced people sought shelter. Israeli planes scattered papers early Friday, telling residents to leave right away. This created fear that military actions would spread through one of the most crowded parts of Gaza.
