Pavement and Phish seemed like complete opposites twenty years ago. One band represented cool indie rock attitudes and the other played jam music for hippie fans. Stephen Malkmus from Pavement produced the new Guerilla Toss album at Trey Anastasio's Vermont studio called the Barn. Both musicians appear on the record called You're Weird Now. Engineer Bryce Goggin worked with Malkmus during the sessions.
Guerilla Toss released their first single Psychosis Is Just A Number last month. The band just shared another track called Red Flag To Angry Bull from the upcoming album. Kassie Carlson sings with bright cartoon style vocals over bouncing rhythms. Malkmus adds his distinctive voice to some songs and Anastasio contributes guitar parts throughout. The album arrives during September with ten total tracks.
