Mark Carney Vows Canada Will Win Trade War With U.S.

The Liberal Party picked Mark Carney as their new leader on Sunday, putting him next in line to take over as Prime Minister of Canada from Justin Trudeau. During his speech to Ottawa, Carney fired back at U.S. President Donald Trump about their trade battles. He made it crystal clear that Canadians never started this economic fight but would stand their ground when pushed. Carney brought up hockey to make his point that Canada would come out on top against America.

The soon-to-be Prime Minister, who is 59 years old, flat-out said Canada would never become part of the United States no matter what. Reports say Carney will step into Trudeau's shoes within the next few days. He needs to call for nationwide elections sometime before October rolls around. His tough talk against American trade moves shows he plans to fight hard for Canadian business interests against their neighbors to the south.
