ZANU PF Moves to Expel Senior Member Over Leadership Criticism. The ruling ZANU PF party's Mashonaland West province has called for the expulsion of war veteran Blessed Geza from its ranks. Party officials made this decision at a meeting in Zvimba East Constituency, citing Geza's public criticism of President Mnangagwa. Justice Minister Ziyambi Ziyambi said Geza violated party rules by attacking leadership. "Members can share concerns, but using party positions to challenge leaders breaks our constitution," he stated. He added that any leadership challenges should wait for the 2027 party Congress. Provincial chairman Mary Mliswa-Chikoka labeled Geza's statements "treasonous." She emphasized that he does not speak for ZANU PF in Mashonaland West. Minister Marian Chombo urged Geza to retract his statements and apologize before facing disciplinary action. The War Veterans League rejected Geza's stance. League Secretary Douglas Mahiya defended the recent move to extend President Mnangagwa's term beyond 2028. "The majority's decision prevails. No individual group can dictate party actions," Mahiya said. In related news, ZANU PF suspended two lawmakers in Masvingo province. The party barred Benjamin Ganyiwa of Gutu East and Roy Bhila of Chiredzi North from party activities. Officials accused them of causing divisions and holding unauthorized meetings. Provincial chairman Robson Mavhenyengwa stressed that party rules apply to everyone. "The disciplinary process will proceed regardless of position," he said. The developments come as ZANU PF implements decisions from its 2024 conference, including plans for President Mnangagwa's term extension and land title deed distribution.
