The Mastercard Foundation says it will help over 4 million young people in Uganda learn and find jobs by 2030.

Adrian Bukenya, who leads the group in Uganda, talked about teaching young people new skills. He said Africa needs these skills as more jobs come up around the world.

"Young people make better choices when they learn more," Bukenya said. "They need help to do well as jobs change."

The group started helping young Africans in 2015. They teach them about money, farming, and business. They want to help many women, about 3 million of them.

Bukenya said working with others makes their help last longer. "We add to what's here already. We want young people to find good work they can keep," he said.

The group had some hard times when COVID-19 came, but they kept working. By 2022, they helped 47,000 young people find work, a number that went up to 1.2 million later.

Bukenya wants the work to be good, not just any job. "Young people need work where they can grow and help others," he said.

The group gives money to start small farms and teaches computer skills. It also helps people who make milk, meat, and coffee and helps small farm shops.

They work with big schools to teach young people. Their work with Muni University helps both Ugandans and those from other lands.

The group asks young people what they want, which helps them make better plans. They want young people in Uganda to improve the land through good work.
