Young people across Mbare have jumped into a government-run digital program. They feel really happy about getting computers through these renewal projects. They see how learning computer skills helps them join the worldwide digital economy and improve their lives. The government wants fewer people to be poor by teaching them digital skills, which creates smarter citizens. Last week people celebrated the opening of a brand new computer lab made just for young folks. This cool space teaches everything from basic computer use to staying safe online and other digital knowledge. The program aims to build a strong digital economy where people know about tech and love trying new ideas. All this matches what the National Development Strategy 1 wants to happen in Zimbabwe. Young people feel excited about these changes. Many talk about how learning tech skills helps them find jobs in today's changing work world. When Tatenda Mavetera from the Information Communication Technology Department visited the DigiTruck yesterday, she said the program gives young people purpose. She praised everyone because nobody showed signs of drug use, and they all worked hard to lift each other. Mavetera reminded everyone that future jobs will need digital skills. Senator Charles Tawengwa agreed after he checked out the project himself. He mentioned how people think Mbare seems backward even though it ranks among the oldest neighborhoods in Harare. They plan to start projects that give community members skills for supporting families and starting businesses. Oliver Olembe Vellem runs these Mbare Renewal Projects and wants better lives through computer education. They built an amazing building for teaching digital skills, with about eighty young people already taking classes. He believes this keeps Mbare moving forward with modern times. He says changing Mbare happens through digital learning. The program already makes real differences. Violet Matsine feels grateful because she can order things online, advertise what she sells, and create her resume. This connects young people to online markets and helps them feel more powerful as they explore business ideas and career growth. Prisca Gore learned that tech improves how she talks to customers and works more efficiently. She never realized online business existed before. She thinks this matters because many businesses use digital tools to reach more customers these days. Clever Masope pointed out another benefit of keeping young people busy with useful activities instead of drugs. He believes digital skills represent the future path forward. His words capture what everyone hopes - that young people busy with good activities stay away from harmful substances.
