MediaTek just made a super fast chip for Chromebooks called Kompanio Ultra. This new brain works really hard at AI tasks right on your device. The chip comes with something called a neural processing unit that can do 50 trillion things each second. That beats what you find in many Windows laptops and totally crushes what Intel puts in their fancy Core Ultra chips. The Kompanio helps your Chromebook run Google's Gemini AI stuff without sending all your data somewhere else. The chip sits on tiny 3-nanometer parts and has eight strong processors working together. One super fast core runs at 3.62GHz, plus three mid-range cores and four others help everything run smooth. All these cores pack serious muscle compared to chips that mix big and small parts. The graphics part has eleven cores with ray tracing for games that look almost real. It works with very fast memory and can handle hard jobs like making videos or playing games without slowing down. MediaTek brags that its chip keeps games running at 60 frames per second without dropping. It runs 18% faster than similar Intel chips but uses half the power. If you want a huge workspace, you can connect three 4K screens at once. The chip lets you watch or make high-quality videos easily. Battery life stretches to about 20 hours, which means you probably won't need to charge it during your day. Google seems pretty happy about this new chip. A big boss from their ChromeOS team said it will bring cool AI features to Chromebook Plus devices. He also liked how the power-saving feature helps people work longer when they're away from outlets. The partnership between Google and MediaTek keeps growing as they try to make Chromebooks smarter and more useful than ever before. You'll start seeing these powerful Chromebooks with Kompanio Ultra chips inside them very soon. The first models should appear within months. This marks a big step for Chromebooks as they keep adding features that used to require much bigger computers. AI tasks that once required internet connections will happen right on your lap, thanks to this little powerhouse chip from MediaTek.
