Minister Sillah started a nationwide tour on Saturday. He is inspecting ongoing road projects. His ministry staff and the National Roads Authority went with him. The tour will help him learn about the construction progress.

They visited Bundung Highway and other OIC roads. These roads are being built in KM and West Coast.

The minister told reporters he is happy with the 50km roads. But he wants the contractors to finish the rams soon and fix and clean the drains, as some drains were not built properly.

"We are worried," he said. "People have turned the finished roads into business centers. This is happening almost everywhere. In Bundung, there are fridge repair shops, welding shops, and stores. They have wires on the roads."

In parts of Kanifing, some mechanics are using the sidewalks.

"We want to ask the Area Councils for help," he said. "They should work with the National Road Authority and the government. They need to clear all rubbish and make the roads look nice."

Minister Sillah said waste collection is a big problem. Many donkey carts collect rubbish. But they do not take it to the Bakoteh Dump site. He asked all Gambians to help fix this issue. The tour will continue.
