These include the Medical Council, Pharmacy and Poisons Board, Clinical Officers Council, Nursing Council of Kenya, Kenya Health Professionals Oversight Authority, Social Health Authority, Kemsa, healthcare workers, and others.
The government could not fund the project right away. They chose a system-as-a-service model provided by the consortium instead. The systems and services are paid for as they are used.
The healthcare system is a 10-year project. It involves giving devices to more than 6,000 facilities. The devices need power backup.
Internet connectivity is also essential for smooth service delivery. Data cloud storage and health management information systems are being implemented. Training is being provided, and data security is being improved.
