An old fighter from Zimbabwe wears his military clothes during social media videos. He became famous for standing up to the harsh government as other opposition groups fell apart. Blessed Geza goes by the nickname Bombshell. Many people follow him because he speaks directly. He starts each message with an old Chinese war song from the 1970s freedom fight. Few people joined his March 31 protests asking President Mnangagwa to step down. Police were still worried enough to send many officers and arrest over 100 protesters. Many shops and offices closed that day. Some people saw this as silent protest support. Right before these events, Mnangagwa fired his military leader and made him run sports instead. One expert called this move protection against a possible army takeover. Geza stays hidden because someone burned his house and bothered his wife after he spoke out. The former soldier, lawmaker, and business owner keeps fighting anyway. Most believe he must be around eighty years old. He recently said he wants to save Zimbabwe and claimed the 82-year-old president cannot think clearly enough to lead anymore. Even though Geza belongs to the ruling party blamed for many national problems, people like his boldness. Most citizens dream of change after years of money troubles. The main opposition group, Citizens Coalition for Change, barely works anymore. Their leader, Nelson Chamisa, quit more than a year ago. His replacement spent five months in jail and has rarely appeared since his release last November. The country has 16 million people. The same party has controlled it since white rule ended in 1980. Geza started speaking when some party members tried changing rules to keep Mnangagwa as president past 2028. Oxford professor Blessing-Miles Tendi says this fight happens between powerful people and ignores regular citizens. Reports suggest Geza supports Vice President Chiwenga taking over instead. Mnangagwa served as defense minister before using the army to remove Robert Mugabe in 2017. Crisis in Zimbabwe Coalition spokesperson Marvellous Khumalo points out leaders who take power through force often lose it the same way. They depend on soldiers rather than public support. He believes another takeover might happen if Mnangagwa keeps trying to stay past his term limit.
