Trump's new taxes are based on how much more each country sells to the U.S. than it buys. Zimbabwe sold $24.1 million more to the U.S. last year, so it's getting hit pretty hard. Their big exports, like tobacco, sugar, and fancy metals, are going to be way pricier in the States now.

A lot of other leaders are super ticked off about these new taxes. Europe and Japan are even talking about hitting back with their taxes on U.S. stuff. But Zimbabwe? They're taking the high road. They figure it's better to keep talking and avoid a big fight.

Trump gave a big angry speech about the taxes, saying the U.S. has been "looted, pillaged, raped, and plundered" by other countries. Yikes. Meanwhile, Zimbabwe's just trying to stay chill and hopefully get the U.S. to see them as a good buddy in trade. We'll see how that goes!
