Newcomers to the committee include representatives from Congo, Tanzania, Ghana, and Algeria. Elvis Chetty from Seychelles lost his spot when members picked Mozambique's Feizal Sidat and Mauritius' Samir Sobha instead.

Six Africans earned spots on the worldwide FIFA Council during the meeting. Egypt's Hany Abo Rida, a member since 2009, maintained his position alongside Morocco's Fouzi Lekjaa. Four fresh faces joined the global football body for the first time. The new FIFA Council members come from Comoros, Niger, Mauritania, and Djibouti.
