Mozambican President Daniel Chapo plans to open the 65th Zimbabwe International Trade Fair on April 25 in Bulawayo. More companies are signing up for this major yearly business show. The Information Minister, Dr. Jenfan Muswere, shared this news during a government meeting yesterday. The fair runs from April 21 to 26 under the theme "Industrialisation: Crafting an Integrated Landscape." For the first time, the event will last six full days instead of five. The Industry Ministry talks with business groups across Zimbabwe to bring more companies into the mix. Air Zimbabwe and Fast Jet agreed to add extra flights for people attending the fair. By April 7, almost 600 businesses had signed up to show their stuff, compared to 428 at this point last year. About 98 companies will join the fair for their very first time. Businesses have already claimed 95% of all available space, much higher than the 87% booked by this date in 2024. More countries want to join the action this year. Twenty-nine nations will send companies to display their products. These include Afghanistan, Angola, China, France, Germany, Japan, South Africa, the United Kingdom, and many others. This beats last year's count of 27 countries. India will also bring businesses to the show. The fair features several special events like the International Business Community, Connect Africa Symposium, and the CBZ Original Equipment Manufacturers. A brand new Rural Industrialisation Indaba makes its first appearance at this year's fair. The growing interest from other countries proves that President Mnangagwa's foreign policy works well. Since he took office in 2017, his government has pushed economic friendship as a key part of dealing with other nations. The ZITF Company handles all the details for this big show. They help promote Zimbabwe, attract investments, and boost economic growth throughout the region. The company recently visited Botswana, South Africa, and Zambia to build excitement for the upcoming fair. They held friendly meetings where people learned about the benefits of joining ZITF events. These gatherings also helped create new ways for businesses from different countries to work together. The roadshows marked the official countdown to the 65th edition of this important business gathering in Bulawayo.
