Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen promised help to the mother of a young man who vanished when fishing at Lake Nakuru. The woman had walked up to Murkomen during his talk in the Shabab neighborhood of Nakuru, asking him to step in. Murkomen shared that he met with Elizabeth Auma Ogega later that day after first talking with her at the launch of the National Mobile Registration Outreach Programme. He told her the government would do everything possible to find her missing son, Brian Odhiambo.
Brian, age 31, disappeared on January 18. His mother and other witnesses say they watched him being arrested and forced into a vehicle. New information suggests he might have been killed and buried inside Lake Nakuru National Park. Auma marched straight to the stage on Wednesday as Murkomen was speaking. When security tried to block her, Murkomen waved them off, saying to let her come forward.
