President Museveni urged African leaders to abandon identity politics yesterday at State House Entebbe. He spoke to 26 Burundian military officers who visited to learn from Uganda's experience. The president compared politics to medicine, saying wrong diagnosis leads to wrong treatment. Many African leaders focused on tribal or religious identity instead of tackling poverty.

Brigadier General Saad Katemba welcomed the group, praising the strong ties between both countries. Sabushimike thanked Museveni for his insights into governance and development. He said Uganda serves as a model for economic transformation and peacebuilding across Africa.
