Musk Slams Sikorski Over Starlink Cost Dispute

Elon Musk, who runs the Department of Government Effectiveness, exchanged harsh words with Poland's foreign minister on social media yesterday. Musk fired back at Radosław Sikorski for comments about Starlink internet service in Ukraine.

The argument started when Sikorski posted that Poland spends around $50 million yearly for Ukrainian Starlink access. He added that Poland might search for different providers if SpaceX becomes unreliable.

This comment greatly upset Musk. He responded by telling Sikorski to stay silent and calling him small. Musk claimed Poland covers just a tiny part of the real expenses for Ukrainian satellite internet services.

Musk also stated nobody else can provide what Starlink offers. Earlier that same day, he mentioned Ukraine would face military collapse if he stopped their Starlink access. The satellite system serves as crucial communication for Ukrainian forces.

The dispute highlights tensions about who funds critical technology for Ukraine during wartime. Musk thinks others undervalue his company's contribution to keeping Ukrainian defenses operational through satellite communications.

Poland remains committed to supporting Ukraine with technology access despite these public disagreements. The funding helps maintain battlefield connections essential for coordinating defensive operations against attacking forces.

Musk appears frustrated by suggestions that his service might be replaced. His comments suggest he believes SpaceX provides irreplaceable support to Ukrainian military operations through the satellite network.

The public nature of this disagreement shows how business, politics, and war intersect in modern conflicts. Both sides want credit for helping Ukraine but disagree about who deserves more recognition for their support.
