From Gilgil, the idea is to reach Olkalou first then follow that Dundori-Lanet path into Nakuru. Ngong traffic is supposed to divert through Suswa, Narok, and Mau Narok. For a trip from Nakuru to Makutano, they suggest using Kampi Ya Moto and Eldama Ravine. Travel between Nakuru and Mau Summit should apparently go via Njoro.

The agency is giving the usual advice about planning ahead, leaving early, and making sure your car does not fall apart. They are working with police to direct traffic and handle emergencies on this critical route for trade and travel. The usual festive season chaos is even worse this year because construction work is narrowing the road in places.
