The head of Namibia welcomed a special sports leader to our country last weekend. Kirsty Coventry from Zimbabwe came to visit President Nandi-Ndaitwah at State House on Saturday. Coventry runs the International Olympic Committee as its first female boss ever. She picked Namibia for her first trip around Africa since she became president back in March. The two leaders talked about many important sports matters. President Nandi-Ndaitwah thanked Coventry for coming to Namibia and told the sports chief how much our nation cares about growing different sports. The president believes games help change society for better living. Sports also bring money into our country through jobs, tourism, and events. Our president said sports go beyond just play—they create jobs, help young minds stay healthy, and push money through many business areas. Young people need good places to play sports, according to what the president shared. When we build proper fields, courts, tracks, and stadiums, youth can grow their skills completely. These skilled young athletes later help the entire nation succeed. Coventry agreed with these ideas during their talk. She mentioned that the Olympic Movement puts building sports centers at the top of their list for making athletics better everywhere. Our government wants more cash spent on sports buildings across Namibia. They believe youth programs matter most for finding future champions. Young players must train at top levels with good coaches. They should travel to big games outside our borders. These steps will make Namibian sports reach greater success than ever before. More winners means more pride for everyone living here. The president pointed out that learning matters just as much as playing. School keeps young minds sharp, sports keep bodies strong—both teach discipline. This message came through clearly during the important meeting. The visit shows how serious our leaders feel about making sports bigger. Athletes need both brain and muscle power to succeed. Better sports programs today create stronger citizens for tomorrow across our beautiful nation.
