[QUOTE="Munyaradzi Mafaro, post: 79899, member: 636"] FDC presidential candidate Nathan Nandala Mafabi is going after the government, claiming it runs on regional favoritism, nepotism, and straight-up corruption. He laid this out during a campaign stop in Mukono District, specifically in Goma Division and Seeta Town. Mafabi argued that public service jobs and even scholarships get handed out based on where someone is from instead of their qualifications, a practice he says cripples basic services and screws over most Ugandans. He promised a fair shake for everyone with national resources if he wins the 2026 vote. He also hit on the problem of predatory money lenders taking advantage of people, seizing land titles and national IDs because folks are desperate. Mafabi blamed the government for letting cooperatives die and for tax policies that he says only help a small group in power. His fix involves bringing cooperatives back to life and setting up farmers' banks for cheaper loans, along with giving local construction companies more road contracts instead of foreign firms. Other FDC candidates on the stump with him echoed similar issues. The woman running for MP in Mukono, Nansubuga Vitarine, pointed to crazy household debt and a chronically broke general hospital. The guy seeking the municipality MP seat, Dunstan Mbogo, called out the dangerous and wrecked state of the Kampala to Jinja highway, saying its constant accidents kill people and wreck traders' livelihoods, calling it a wider regional problem.
