[QUOTE="Munyaradzi Mafaro, post: 51491, member: 636"] Fifteen talented folks from Narsingdi grabbed prestigious cultural honors during a packed ceremony at the District Shilpakala Academy auditorium Thursday night. Officials rolled out the red carpet for these creative stars who made their mark across different artistic fields over the past three years. Additional Deputy Commissioner Abu Taher Mohammad Shamsuzzaman ran the show while Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Rashed Hossain Chowdhury handed out shiny medals and cash prizes. Freedom fighters Tofazzal Hossain Master and Abul Harich Rikabdar joined former college principal Prof Mohammad Ali and cultural officer Runa Laila for the big celebration. The academy packed three years of recognition into one spectacular evening honoring outstanding achievements. Artists snagged awards across multiple categories from vocal music to traditional folk performances between 2022 and 2024. Dulal Saha kicked off the honors with his vocal talents in 2022 alongside cultural researcher Imdadul Islam Khokon and folk expert Md Fazal Mia. The following year brought recognition for singer Kajol Goswami and performer Anisur Rahman Shiplu among five deserving recipients. Recent winner Liton Chandra Sharma earned vocal music honors while Mohammad Mehedi Hasan claimed fine arts recognition and photographer Mohammad Sharif Iqbal Russel captured the photography prize. The government backs these district-level awards as part of a nationwide program celebrating five cultural champions from every district annually since Narsingdi started hosting ceremonies in 2013.
