The NDC chairman argues that fuel costs will still stay lower than before even with the new tax. He points out that gas prices fell from 17.5 cedis to around 10 or 11 cedis recently. Adding one cedi would bring the total to 12 cedis per liter. This amount remains well below the peak prices that drivers paid under the old government. Many citizens continue to worry about rising costs and economic problems across the country.
