Godwin Edudzi Tamekloe mocked Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia over recent statements about leadership abilities. Tamekloe serves as Director of Legal Affairs for the National Democratic Congress. He called Bawumia's claims empty given Ghana's economic problems. The NDC official dismissed the former Vice President's innovation promises. Tamekloe said these ideas failed during Bawumia's time as Economic Management Team head. Bawumia spoke to more than 200 former local government executives about his future plans. He told the Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives he lacks money but has valuable concepts. The former Vice President wants to lead Ghana toward better times. His Accra meeting helped build support for the 2028 New Patriotic Party leadership race. Bawumia hopes to become the party's presidential candidate. Tamekloe attacked these statements through social media posts. He blamed Bawumia's leadership for the cedi's sharp decline against the dollar. The currency reached 17 cedis per dollar under the former Vice President's watch. Tamekloe reminded Bawumia about the NPP's recent election defeat. He told the former official to stay quiet after losing just six months earlier. Political tensions continue rising as NPP members compete for future control. Many party leaders want to replace President Akufo-Addo after his term ends. Tamekloe believes Bawumia ignores the economic damage from his previous work. The NDC lawyer thinks voters still remember the financial struggles from that period.
