NGF delegation visits Plateau to mourn victims of recent violence

Kwara governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq visited Plateau State on Thursday with other governors to comfort residents after deadly attacks there. During his meeting with Governor Caleb Mutfwang, he praised security forces for stopping more violence. The Nigeria Governors Forum chairman asked all local leaders to help unite communities across Plateau. He urged everyone, including youth leaders, to reject violence and instead use dialogue to settle differences.

The visiting official warned that ongoing tension hurts development, especially for agriculture and tourism, which hold great promise for the region. He expressed support for how Mutfwang handled the crisis during these difficult times. The delegation prayed for peace to return quickly to the affected areas. Abdulrazaq emphasized that sustainable growth remains impossible without safety and stability. His team traveled specifically to show solidarity from other states facing similar challenges.

Security remains shaky in parts of Plateau where multiple people died recently despite increased patrols. The visiting governors hope their presence encourages faster healing among different ethnic groups. They believe working together can help prevent future clashes between communities. Local officials appreciate the national attention brought by the high-profile visit.
