Irish actress Nicola Coughlan just earned her first BAFTA nomination. She shared this exciting news today on Instagram, making her fans super happy. The Bridgerton star received recognition for playing Maggie in Big Mood with a nomination for best female performance in a comedy. Based on what she posted online, she seemed totally surprised by this honor. Nicola even showed everyone how she told her mom about it. She wrote that she tried making a longer message but felt way too excited and emotional about the whole thing. The post included several pictures showing her reaction. One photo captured her mom on FaceTime right after hearing the big news. Another picture showed the entire Big Mood cast, whom Nicola calls her forever friends. She also posted a throwback photo with Camilla Whitehall, who created the show. Nicola mentioned they were 21 and 19 years old when the picture was taken, never knowing Camilla would later write such an amazing part that would earn Nicola this nomination. The BAFTA nominations included other Irish talents as well. Lola Petticrew from Say Nothing made the list for best leading actress. Maxine Peake also earned a nomination for playing an older version of Dolours Price in the same show. Say Nothing itself became a contender for Best International Show among the many nominees announced.
