Nigerian military forces just wrecked multiple terrorist hideouts in the Timbuktu Triangle area. The Joint Task Force North East kicked off a major push under Operation Desert Sanity and completely leveled insurgent camps at three different spots around Chilaria, Garin Faruk, and Abirma. Lt. Colonel Sani Uba from Operation Hadin Kai laid out how soldiers rolled out from their base positions for targeted raids based on solid intel about where the bad guys were holed up. Air support kept eyes on everything from above during the whole thing. Drones and surveillance planes tracked insurgent movements in real time and stopped reinforcements from showing up, which made the ground assault way more effective. Soldiers grabbed a ton of gear when they swept through the camps. The haul had Baofeng radios, cell phones, five AK-47 mags, a bunch of 7.62x39mm rounds, 7.62mm NATO ammo on belts, flags from Boko Haram and ISWAP, 12.7x108mm ammunition links, diesel grinders, massive amounts of medical stuff, grain sacks, one pickup, underground storage spots, and a fuel depot. Insurgents hit back with armed drones while troops were advancing, but the soldiers kept pushing forward. Terrorists tried another attack later that got shut down hard, and they had to bail out. Troops are still fired up and ready to go, even after all the fighting. The area seems quiet right this second, but could pop off at any moment. Military brass said they are sticking with the offensive to take out terrorist threats and bring stability back to the North East.
