Ntcheu District Football Association fights back against orders to shut down its leadership team. Central Region Football Association wants to remove the district officials and replace them with temporary leaders. District General Secretary Clement Mafula says only voters can dissolve the executive committee. He claims the regional body breaks football rules with its actions. The district plans to hold elections on July 4 despite the conflict. The trouble started when regional officials stopped April elections over paperwork problems. Njolomole Football Zone denied causing any issues with candidate nominations. District Chairperson Williams Kapenuka accused regional leaders of trying to help certain candidates win. Vice Chairperson Abel Chiumia said his group never discussed the election delay. Regional officials dissolved the district committee on June 13 after leaders missed a 30-day deadline. Antonio Manda leads the regional association and appointed 12 people to run district football for three months. Ezra Chodzadza heads the temporary committee with Mafula staying as secretary. The group must organize the 2025 season and arrange new elections. Candidates can apply from June 14 to June 27 through the regional office. Each zone can nominate one person for each leadership position. Ntcheu Warriors soccer team cannot play after switching regions created problems. The district moved from Central Region to Eastern Region with approval from national football leaders. Eastern Region officials refused to register the Warriors despite the official transfer. Team Secretary Biles Tsinambuto asked national leaders to solve the registration dispute. The team remains stuck without a league to join for the upcoming season.
