Steinberg just released Nuendo 14, its latest pro audio software for creating sound for movies, TV shows, and video games. It is packed with new tools that help sound engineers work faster and produce better audio. Many big-name movies and games use Nuendo, and version 14 makes the software even more powerful for creating amazing soundtracks. The coolest new thing might be something called Adaptive Background Attenuation from Fraunhofer IIS. This smart tech helps keep talking voices clear by turning down loud background sounds automatically. It uses the dialog track as a guide and keeps background noise at least a certain level below the voices. You can always check what it did and fix anything you want. They also added AI that turns speech into text, which helps create ADR markers from dialog tracks. This saves tons of time compared to typing everything by hand. Luis Dongo from Marketing said they want Nuendo to be the best platform for game audio and post-production. They added features users asked for, plus brand new tools nobody has seen before in audio software. Game Audio Connect 3 lets you hear sound effects inside Audiokinetic Wwise. Other new stuff includes automatic sound changes, quick volume adjustments with Event Volume Curves, automatic audio detection, and better range tools. The program supports more Dolby Atmos formats and has an updated video engine that handles 4K and 8K video. You can import CSV files without timecode, preview sound effects better in MediaBay, and use DAWproject files. New effects include Shimmer, Underwater, StudioDelay, and AutoFilter. The software runs 64-bit, works with SpectraLayers Go, and has better mixing controls. They added pattern tools, drum tracks, score editor updates, performance tracking, auto-saves, meter improvements, ruler options, flexible audio ports, and Windows light/dark mode support. Nuendo 14 costs $999.99, but updating from version 13 costs $199.99. Anyone who buys between March 19 and April 3, 2025, saves 20% on updates. People who activated Nuendo 13 after February 19, 2025, can upgrade for free. This makes it easier for audio pros to start using all these new features right away.
