A Chegutu pig farm set a national record after a sow delivered 25 piglets in a single litter. Letwin Nyagano and her husband, Joel, imported the large white sow from Danbred in South Africa, and the delivery marked the highest count ever documented in Zimbabwe.

Agritex Services deputy director Passmore Nyamadzawo said imported breeds need more feed but generate higher profits through increased offspring numbers. The 62-year-old farmer has trained over 1,000 students from Mozambique, Zambia, South Africa, and Botswana over four years and has been nominated for the Christian Women Entrepreneur Network of Africa Awards, taking place in South Africa next month.
