Universal Audio has expanded its Ocean Way Studios plugin with a deluxe edition that adds console emulations, dynamic processors and reverb chambers to the virtual recreation of the historic Los Angeles recording facility. The software uses Dynamic Room Modeling technology to simulate the acoustic properties of Studio A and Studio B, where artists such as Ray Charles, Frank Sinatra, Whitney Houston, Radiohead and Beck recorded material.

The enhanced version incorporates models of equipment from the facility's gear collection. Users gain access to Focusrite and Dalcon console emulations paired with API 550A equalization and Focusrite 110 filtering. Dynamic processing comes from virtual versions of the Fairchild 670, Teletronix LA-2A, 1176LN and dbx 160 units, supplemented by A-Type Air and Crush processors. Three reverb chambers designed by Bill Putnam Sr. join re-miking systems based on UREI 813 monitors and Altec A-2 speaker cabinets. The interface has been redesigned with updated graphics and routing flexibility.

Ocean Way Studios Deluxe works on Windows 10 and later, plus macOS 11 and higher, through VST3, AU and AAX formats. The plugin costs $249, while owners of the original version can upgrade for $49. Access is available through perpetual licensing or a UAD Spark subscription.
