Morocco's farm giant OCP Nutricrops just locked down a massive fertilizer deal with Bangladesh. The company will ship 1.1 million tonnes of plant food to help farmers grow more crops. Bangladesh's Agricultural Development Corporation signed the papers for the 2025-2026 seasons. Both countries want to boost food production through better farming methods. The partnership aims to make Bangladesh more self-sufficient with its agriculture. Bangladesh officials flew to Morocco recently to seal the agreement and tour fancy facilities. They checked out Al Jorf industrial platform, which makes more fertilizer than anywhere else on Earth. The delegation also visited Mohammed VI Polytechnic University where scientists work on new farming ideas. The trip helped both sides plan future projects beyond just selling fertilizer. Research, training, and technology sharing topped their wish list. OCP Nutricrops CEO Youssef El Bari called the deal proof of their strong friendship with Bangladesh. He said both countries share the same vision for smarter and cleaner farming practices. BADC President Ruhul Amin Khan thanked Morocco for helping Bangladeshi farmers succeed. The two groups have worked together for 17 years building trust and results. Their partnership has grown from simple business to strategic cooperation. The OCP Foundation trained almost 15,000 Bangladeshi farmers between 2019 and 2023. More than 4,000 women learned better growing techniques to feed their families and communities. The training helps farmers use fertilizers correctly and grow healthier crops. This collaboration shows how developing countries can help each other prosper. Both nations believe working together creates better solutions than going alone.
