Former Benue State leader Samuel Ortom asked his replacement to quit blaming him for ongoing violence problems. Governor Hyacinth Alia keeps pointing fingers at Ortom when discussing security troubles across their region. Ortom said through his helper Terver Akase that this blame game will not stop people from dying. The ex-governor feels upset that current leaders refuse to take responsibility for their duties. Alia spends more time attacking past leadership than fixing real issues. Alia recently claimed that over four million people lost their homes during Ortom's time as governor. Akase called these numbers completely wrong and said they try to distract from current failures. The actual count was 1.5 million displaced residents according to official records from aid groups. Alia received these same figures when he started his job and accepted them as true. The current administration changes facts to make Ortom look bad. Akase complained that Alia turns every problem into an attack against the former governor. Displaced people protested at camps because they felt forgotten and hungry. During these protests, the emergency management boss attended a fancy wedding overseas instead of helping citizens. Ortom's team expected criticism about this poor leadership but received more personal attacks instead. Akase reminded Alia that President Tinubu gave clear instructions about fixing security problems during his recent visit. The governor should follow these presidential recommendations rather than making excuses about foreign fighters and political enemies. Ortom believes Alia wastes valuable time creating blame stories when he should focus on protecting residents.
