A civil rights group called The Osun Masterminds accused state leaders of ignoring court orders about local government control. The organization said Osun State officials refuse to follow a February ruling from the Appeal Court. Professor Wasiu Oyedokun-Alli leads the group and spoke about the crisis during a Friday meeting in Osogbo. He said the state government acts against clear legal decisions. The group wants other Nigerians to pressure Osun leaders into following the law. The court fight started when judges ruled on February 10 about local government chairmen elected under the APC party in 2022. Nigeria's top lawyer Lateef Fagbemi agreed the ruling meant those chairmen should return to office. Violence broke out on February 17 when supporters from different parties clashed. Remi Abass died during the fighting in Ikire town. Local government workers stopped coming to their offices because of safety fears. State officials held new elections on February 22 despite the court ruling. Governor Ademola Adeleke told newly elected officials to stay away from government buildings. The governor said this would prevent more violence and keep order. The Osun Masterminds questioned why state leaders will not work with chairmen from different political parties. Federal President Bola Tinubu cooperates with the PDP governor even though they belong to different parties. The group asked federal offices to send money directly to the court-approved local government leaders. They said development projects cannot move forward without proper funding. The organization wants peace between all political groups in Osun State.
