Paga's new hustle for Nigerian cash in America

Paga Group launched digital banking services for African immigrants living across America. The UK-based financial technology company partnered with a regulated American bank to offer specialized accounts. Nigerian residents can open these accounts using basic identification and proof of address.

The service targets over 760,000 Nigerians residing in America who send approximately $21 billion home annually. Account holders receive physical and virtual Visa debit cards that work with popular payment apps like Apple Pay and Google Pay. Users can transfer money to both American and Nigerian bank accounts through the platform.

The expansion addresses financial barriers facing 4.5 million African immigrants who struggle with traditional banking systems. Paga designed the accounts specifically for people maintaining connections between two countries. The company plans to extend services to additional African nations after the Nigerian rollout succeeds.
