A Bulawayo businesswoman named Ms Pamela Mwapaura has won a protection order against Mr Kwame Mwemba, in an unusual case where he had first tried to take legal action against her. Ms Mwapaura owns a business called Pamela Creations.

The public became interested in their case when Mr Mwemba first brought Ms Mwapaura to court for assault and breaking his property. But he later dropped these charges after his family talked about the situation. He said he didn't want the mother of his three children to go to jail.

Ms Mwapaura then went to court herself. She asked for two things: protection from Mr Mwemba and an order to make him leave their home. She claimed they weren't really married, saying he had never met her parents. The magistrate, Mr Shepherd Munjanja, decided they were married by custom but gave her the protection order because there were pictures showing she had been hurt. He told her to ask different courts about making Mr Mwemba leave their home.

Court papers tell the full story. In March, Ms Mwapaura followed Mr Mwemba from town to Luveve suburb when he gave a ride to another woman. Ms Mwapaura stopped his car, took his Samsung phone worth $1,000, and broke it. Later, in November, they fought about money and family costs, and she allegedly hit him several times.

The magistrate's final decision included stopping Ms Mwapaura from following Mr Mwemba for five years. Earlier, when Ms Mwapaura faced charges of hurting Mr Mwemba at their Hopeville home, she was let go after Mr Mwemba dropped the case.
