Parliament turned into a battlefield Tuesday when lawmakers started screaming at each other over a wooden box. The whole mess began when Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin wanted to ask questions from his special speaking spot. Majority Leader Mahama Ayariga jumped up and said no way would his team let that happen. The fight got worse when other politicians started picking sides. First Deputy Speaker Bernard Ahiafor watched the chaos unfold from his chair. Frank Annoh-Dompreh tried to calm everyone down and said the Speaker already said Afenyo-Markin could use the box before. Ahiafor denied ever making that decision and looked angry about the whole thing. Habib Iddrisu stood up and told everyone that Ahiafor definitely made that ruling earlier. The Deputy Speaker got mad and demanded proof or wanted Habib to take back his words. Habib refused to back down and said he did nothing wrong. Ahiafor threatened to send Habib to the Privileges Committee for lying about what happened earlier. The arguing went on for almost ten minutes with everyone shouting and pointing fingers. Habib finally gave up and took back what he said but everyone stayed upset. The tension filled the room like thick smoke. Ahiafor had enough of the fighting and shut down the meeting at exactly 3:22 in the afternoon.
