Atedo Peterside spoke out against the Senate for suspending Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan. He runs the Anap Foundation and believes this move disrespects voters from Kogi Central. He shared his thoughts Sunday on X, stating he stands with the female lawmaker during her tough situation. Peterside called the Senate's actions "disturbing" because they likely know the six-month suspension goes beyond their power. The fight between Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Akpoti-Uduaghan reached its peak last Thursday. The Senate suspended the Kogi Central senator after she accused Akpabio of sexual harassment and misusing his position. These accusations came after they disagreed about seating arrangements on February 20, 2025. Akpabio has firmly denied all sexual harassment claims made against him. Akpoti-Uduaghan fought back by filing a huge N100 billion defamation lawsuit against Akpabio. The Senate then sent her case to their disciplinary committee. She responded by going to the Federal High Court in Abuja, where she secured an order stopping the Senate committee from punishing her. The court pushed her case to March 10, 2025. On March 5, 2025, the Senate committee threw out her harassment and office abuse complaints against Akpabio. They said her petition was "dead on arrival" because of legal issues and procedure problems. The female senator quickly submitted another petition the next day. Their conflict started earlier - Akpabio had apologized to her back in July 2024 for making comments about her and nightclubs.
