Jamaica's Prime Minister Andrew Holness just celebrated two major stars who made the country proud across the pond. Khadine Wilkinson, better known as Miss Kitty, and the famous reggae group Morgan Heritage both scored huge honors at a Florida festival. The duo walked away with keys to Tamarac city and special recognition from the US Congress. This all went down at the brand new Yard on the Lawn Music Festival that had thousands of people dancing and celebrating Caribbean culture. Commissioner Marlon Bolton made sure this festival happened and brought everyone together. Miss Kitty has been killing it as both a media personality and attorney, and Holness couldn't stop praising her achievements. He talked about how she keeps inspiring other Jamaicans to chase their dreams and represent their homeland with pride. The prime minister made it clear that her success means everything to Jamaica. Miss Kitty has been working hard to promote Caribbean culture wherever she goes. Her dedication has finally paid off with this major American recognition. Morgan Heritage got their flowers for decades of spreading reggae music around the world. Their hit song Down by the River has touched millions of hearts and carried Jamaica's spirit everywhere. Holness pointed out how the group has been preaching unity and peace through their powerful music. Congresswoman Sheila Cherfilus McCormick handed out the Congressional Proclamation and promised both stars have open doors to Washington anytime. Commissioner Bolton praised both celebrities for inspiring young artists and keeping Caribbean heritage alive.
