Pokot South MP Elected Chair of Public Investments Committee

David Pkosing, the Pokot South MP, has won the chair position for the Public Investments Committee on Commercial Affairs and Energy. Nobody else ran against him, so he got the job automatically. The committee also voted for John Ariko, the Turkana South MP, to be the vice chairperson.

Pkosing thanked the committee members and the leaders of the broad-based government, President William Ruto and Raila Odinga. He appreciates their trust in him to do this important job. The committee members want the new leaders to work hard and finish reviewing the audit reports they are supposed to examine.

Sarah Korere, the Laikipia West MP, thinks this shows that the Turkana and Pokot are starting to get along better and work together more. Beatrice Adagala, the Vihiga Woman Representative, believes they have put together the best committee in Parliament. She has faith that this team will do a great job.

Pkosing says that choosing him and Ariko proves the two communities are not enemies. He promises the team will focus on the reviews that still need to be done. "We have three reports we need to finish, and we will talk about how to do them quickly. We only have one report right now, which is not good considering all the organizations we are supposed to watch over," Pkosing explains. These changes happened because the terms for the departmental committees had ended.
