Police caught a man who stole six goats near Nyabira. Michael Gombe, 32, faces charges for taking the goats from Dryham Farm on March 4th.
Commissioner Paul Nyathi shared that Gombe worked with another person who hasn't been caught yet. The pair grabbed the goats from their pen, killed them right away, stuffed all the meat into plastic bags, and then ran off.
Officers found Gombe standing along the Harare-Chirundu highway. He was trying to find a ride to Harare with his stolen meat. The police nabbed him before he managed to escape with his illegal haul.
The search continues for his partner. Farm animals remain valuable targets for thieves across rural areas, causing significant losses for farmers who depend on livestock for their livelihood.
