Both his wives passed away. He spoke of his first wedding to Mama Ann on August 20, 1950. He pointed out the printed date was wrong. "The program says August 21," he said. "But I know it was August 20."
He praised his late wife's strength. She gave birth to four sets of twins. "My wife was strong like me," he said. "I must be a bull. Who else in Kenya has four sets of twins?"
The couple had 15 children. His other wife also gave birth to 15 children. Many of his loved ones died before him. "God has taken my darlings away," he said with sadness.
