Brooklyn shoegaze band Punchlove just released a new track, "Today You Can Learn The Secret." This follows their earlier 2025 single, "(Sublimate)," and comes after their first album, Channels, from last year. Band member Jillian Olesen describes the song as "surrealist, portal fantasy-inspired" that connects with the unconscious mind. The music began with just the title before Ian created all instrumental parts. For lyrics, Jillian tried leaving notebooks beside her bed at night, waking up to find strange writings each morning - an experience she calls "scary psychological Christmas." These dream writings helped Jillian understand how digital life affected her subconsciously. The song represents a journey from the always-online world toward deeper self-discovery. The track was made with producer Xav Sinden and comes with a wild music video created by Ian Lange-McPherson and Viz_Wel. Punchlove will play five upcoming shows starting April 18 in Austin, Texas. They'll visit Dallas, Davenport, Chicago, and Philadelphia through April 25.
