Mohammed Kolo recently took charge as Radio Niger's General Manager. He asked the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company for steady power at their broadcast station in Maitumbi and their office building on Shiroro Road, Minna. His team visited AEDC's Niger Regional Office because the radio station keeps losing electricity, making it hard to stay on air. Kolo stressed that media outlets need reliable power to work properly. Radio Niger wants to keep informing, teaching, and entertaining listeners without interruptions. Kolo requested special treatment from AEDC to help the station broadcast without constant power cuts. The electricity matters greatly to them since they serve the public through their programs. He hoped AEDC would support their mission with consistent electricity service. AEDC responded positively through their Chief Business Officer for Niger Region, Engineer Dr. Samuel Odekina. He announced plans to deliver between 12 and 16 hours of daily electricity to Radio Niger's main location. Odekina also approved 10 hours of power supply specifically for the FM station at Maitumbi. This arrangement should help them share news and information much better than before. Odekina praised Governor Muhammad Umaru Bago as someone who really supports the electricity sector. He mentioned how the Governor has put money into building better power systems throughout the area. The AEDC official committed that the entire state would receive 12 hours of electricity every day. This promise shows their effort to improve service across the region.
