Raila Odinga is confident that Kenya is heading toward a better future. At an Iftar dinner, he hosted in Upper Hill, Nairobi, the Former Prime Minister described how Kenya is different from its position years ago. He recognized that plenty remains to be accomplished. He urged people to maintain unity. Kenyans understand the progress made thus far and their ultimate destination. The country has not reached its ideal state yet, yet it must continue advancing forward. He expressed certainty that they would achieve their desired goals. The Former Prime Minister described Kenyan democracy as growing steadily despite challenges. Kenya has achieved notable progress, but democracy resembles a slow process rather than instant coffee. Democracy moves two steps forward with one step backward, still making headway overall. Raila believes substantial work awaits regarding election improvements. The journey remains incomplete. Elections currently lack freedom and fairness, though improvement seems inevitable. He called upon citizens to sacrifice personal interests for national advancement. Every Kenyan must make sacrifices. If selfishness subsides, their collective destination appears certain. The entire nation should progress together. Raila fully supports universal access to national Identity Cards for all citizens. He heard critics attack President Ruto regarding universal ID distribution. Every Kenyan deserves identification documents without facing discrimination. Communities throughout Kibera experienced decades of hardship due to ID denial. President William Ruto declared free national identity cards would become available to all Kenyans. During his recent tour through Nairobi's Kibra area, he committed to removing both bureaucratic hurdles and biased practices from the ID issuance process.
