During Ramadan, Malawian Ambassador to Egypt Catherine Nurujean Kunje talked about her faith journey. She saw it like a butterfly breaking free from its cocoon. She stressed helping others, keeping control of yourself, and reading the Holy Quran.
Kunje faced hard times during the holy month. She struggled to handle both work and prayer time. She said she felt very thirsty before breaking fast each day. The last week had hit her hard with hunger and tiredness.
Yet these problems brought her closer to her family. Living far from home made her see how different family members had become. She tells them to stay strong in their faith. As people say, praying as a family keeps a family tight.
Eid times meant a lot to her, with food bringing everyone together. She makes sure to feed people who have less, saying that when you share, you show you care. Her best Eid food is Akin, rice cooked with goat meat.
For the future, Kunje wants to help those who have less in her area. She hopes to push young people toward faith and bring hope to those who need it most.
