Terence Wallen Visits Gambia for the First Time. Terence Wallen is a famous reggae singer from the UK. This is his first trip to West Africa, and he has just arrived in Gambia. Terence will play many shows in Gambia. The shows will honor Gregory Isaacs, a famous reggae star who was known as the "Cool Ruler." He died in 2010. Terence has family roots in Jamaica. He is very happy to be in the Gambia. The people have been very nice to him, and he feels at home. "I am excited to be here," Terence said. He spoke to a newspaper called The Standard. "I will play at least seven shows for Gregory Isaacs." Terence wants to do more than just play music. He wants to help people in Gambia. He will use money from his shows to support schools and charities. Terence has a group in the UK that helps people from Africa and the Caribbean who have HIV and AIDS. The group also works in Malawi, helping people with education and health care. Terence hopes to do the same in the Gambia. "Music is important to me," Terence said. "I want to make people happy. I want to help those who are not as lucky as me." [HEADING=2]Terence Looks Up to Gregory Isaacs[/HEADING] Terence thinks highly of Gregory Isaacs. He knew Gregory well. They were good friends. "Gregory was a humble man," Terence said. "He was kind and calm. He had a good heart." Gregory Isaacs made over 500 albums and worked with many big reggae stars. In 2016, Jamaica gave him a special award for his music. Terence has loved reggae since he was a kid. It makes him feel good, so he plays bongo drums. Terence comes from a big family. His mom and brother died, which made him want to spread love with his music and keep their memory alive. "We are all here to do something," Terence said. "Then we pass it on to others."
