He had clocked 955 hours of flying time when the accident happened. Both men passed all the required tests for flying missions.

Investigators confirmed that both pilots had enough experience to handle their jobs properly. The military report cleared the aircrew as unlikely factors in the crash. Their helicopter left Nairobi Wilson Airport first, heading to Chesitet. They maintained proper radio contact during the entire journey through Kainuk toward Chesogon. Communication issues did not contribute to the tragic accident.
