Madi Jobarteh wants President Barrow to rethink his harsh words about workers in government offices. The boss of Edward Francis Small Centre asked Barrow to stop making threats. When Barrow met with Muslim leaders for Eid, he complained about staff who held up work just to hurt his plans. He said they need to act better if the country wants to grow. Many workers later told The Standard newspaper they felt scared by these words. They believe the president tries to bully them when they simply do their jobs right. Madi thinks politics should stay away from regular office work. He believes Barrow should let the right departments handle employee matters instead of jumping in himself. The real problem happens when staff members refuse to support the NPP party or its ideas. Leaders then label them as enemies and tell the president about them. This creates poor work everywhere. Government workers should stay neutral and follow only rules and good work habits. No person should control or limit what they do. Barrow can pick certain high-level people for jobs, but that should be where his power stops. When he claims workers sabotage him or support other parties, he makes them look bad. These comments hurt their pride and skill levels. Madi asked the president to avoid such talk because it might cause fighting among workers as they try to please him. Some might break the rules just to show their support for Barrow, which can lead to breaking laws and stealing money. The damage from these presidential comments can weaken how the country runs. Government workers keep everything moving by providing services, enforcing laws, watching over things, and running daily business. Every citizen connects with these offices. People visit government workers for everything from signing up for services to asking for meters, passports, or healthcare. These offices matter greatly for the nation. Nobody should mess with their fairness and freedom, especially not the president. Madi strongly believes these workers must stay independent to serve the public properly.
