StubHub CEO Eric Baker is facing fresh questions from Robert Garcia over his financial links to ticket reseller Andro Capital Management. The Democratic lawmaker wants to know whether Baker's roles at both firms give bulk ticket traders an edge over fans and smaller sellers. Garcia, the top Democrat on the House Oversight Committee, has sent Baker another letter. This one targets his role as Andro's managing director rather than his job at StubHub. It's the second attempt to get details about the firms' business ties. Here's why the setup has drawn heat. Baker holds part of Andro, a fund that buys and sells tickets through StubHub. Garcia fears the link may give Andro better terms or access than regular users get. No such unfair treatment has been proven. The money trail has some key figures. Andro has used StubHub for ticket sales since 2008, with millions in payments over that span. Earlier financial records showed $100,000 due to Andro, though the latest report lists no unpaid balance for that firm. There's more to the setup than ticket sales. StubHub has handled pricing, listings, and order services for Andro. It also agreed to pay certain costs tied to ticket management, which Garcia wants explained in full. Then there's Colloquy Capital LLC, a firm linked to Andro. StubHub sends some ticket sellers its way for loans and has also helped sell tickets held by Colloquy. In return, the platform gets a cut through service fees. Those ties involve real cash. StubHub earned $600,000 in fees from its Colloquy deal during one quarter. Its unpaid balance to the firm rose from $800,000 to $3.5 million, while Colloquy's secured interest in seller ticket proceeds grew from $7.9 million to $10.8 million. Garcia wants a much clearer view of how all this works. His eight requests cover Baker's stakes in related firms, cash flows, special fees, ticket data feeds, web domains, and SEC registration records. He also seeks messages and files tied to buying, funding, and selling tickets. The catch is that Garcia can't force Baker to hand over the records. Democrats hold the minority seats on the panel, which limits their power to demand a reply. Republican James Comer, who chairs the committee, also received a copy. Meanwhile, StubHub has not said whether Baker will answer. The firm also gave no fresh comment on the latest letter or on any reply to Garcia's earlier request. Its past stance was that Andro is a separate business, Baker's stake is public, and the deal accounts for little revenue. A separate court fight adds another wrinkle. New York buyer Louis Sanquini filed a proposed class action that claims StubHub misled users about being a neutral ticket market. Judge Jed S. Rakoff sent that case to private arbitration without ruling on whether the claims were true. Baker has a long history with the platform. He helped start StubHub in 2000, then went on to found viagogo. That firm bought StubHub from eBay in 2020, and the group uses the StubHub name in North America while keeping viagogo for other regions. The business later went public on the New York Stock Exchange, with shares priced at $23.50 at launch. That gives investors another reason to watch how the company handles questions about its related-party deals. For fans, the real issue is whether a large reseller gets perks that an average buyer or small ticket seller can't access. Garcia is seeking records that may help answer that, but the allegations remain unproven. Baker's response and any further review will matter.
